Module 1: Communicating with Older Adults

Module 1: Communicating with Older Adults

Non-verbal Communication

A learning module that offers some good “do’s and don’ts” of communicating with elderly patients. Has some suggestions for areas of more difficult communication (hearing impaired, dementia, etc.) Has some SAQs at the end to solidify concepts. A short, easy to read resource that covers a lot of the main points addressed in other resources. This might be something that students could read before starting a placement and even print out and bring along as a reference.
