About this Program

Et nihil amet nihil laboriosam. Enim est fugit quas dolor modi quaerat. Aut molestiae aut non.

Are you interested in gaining confidence in counselling patients living with chronic pain about the potential risks and benefits of a trial of medical cannabis or cannabinoids?

This free 50-minute module, developed in collaboration with the Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Medicinal Cannabis Research, will give you an overview of the British Medical Journal Rapid Recommendations Clinical Practice Guideline on the optimal, evidence-based use of medical cannabis or cannabinoids for chronic pain.

Sign up to receive updates when the course launches!

After completing this course, you'll be able to:

  • Summarize the evidence and recommendations outlined in the guideline
  • Distinguish between a 'weak' vs. a 'strong' recommendation; and describe some of the implications of a 'weak' recommendation
  • Describe key practical issues and other considerations
  • Recognize when offering a trial of non-inhaled medical cannabis may make sense for people living with chronic pain
  • Describe the strength of the evidence behind the recommendations; in particular, discuss the benefits, short-term harms and long-term harms
  • Employ shared decision-making with your patients with respect to the evidence and their values and preferences
  • Review MAGICapp and how you can use it at point-of-care
  • Scientific evidence about how to stay healthy, active and engaged as we grow older
  • A wealth of content specifically for citizens
  • Additional content for clinical, public health and policy professionals
  • Find out how the Portal can help you by watching the short video
