DeGroote Centre for Medicinal Cannabis Research, will give you an overview of the British Medical Journal Rapid Recommendations Clinical Practice Guideline on the optimal, evidence-based use of medical cannabis or cannabinoids for chronic pain.

After completing this course, you'll be able to:
- Summarize the evidence and recommendations outlined in the guideline
- Distinguish between a 'weak' vs. a 'strong' recommendation; and describe some of the implications of a 'weak' recommendation
- Describe key practical issues and other considerations
- Recognize when offering a trial of non-inhaled medical cannabis may make sense for people living with chronic pain
- Describe the strength of the evidence behind the recommendations; in particular, discuss the benefits, short-term harms and long-term harms
- Employ shared decision-making with your patients with respect to the evidence and their values and preferences
