This online webinar discusses prominent health care needs of LGBT seniors, and how they may be different than heterosexual seniors including effects of economic, social, and environmental determinants of health. The presentation considers why seniors may be hesitant to disclose their sexual orientation without being asked, and why sexual orientation matters in regards to geriatric health and wellness. It explores known healthcare disparities and strategies for practitioners to communicate with respect, knowledge, and how to gather thorough medical histories.
