An overview of asthma action plans and their role and evidence for use in primary care.
This program provides an overview of asthma action plans and their role and evidence for use in primary care. The tools and resources are aligned with the latest Canadian Thoracic Society guidelines for the diagnosis and management of asthma. An asthma action plan is a simple self-management tool that reduces healthcare utilization, improves quality of life and has been recommended for all patients with asthma across Canadian and international respiratory guidelines for over 25 years. However, fewer than 2% of patients receive an action plan in practice. This free 1-hour course will underscore the evidence for asthma action plans and provide a practical approach to completing them for adults and children.
This program for primary care providers is an evidence-based education and management program focused on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
